Master's thesis: Empathy and work
Organisational ethnological research with a group of young professionals
Empathy is an important skill in human coexistence. It enables you to empathise with the other person and understand their actions and emotions.
This organisational ethnological research explored how empathy can be understood and practised in a work context. It was found that empathetic communication has a positive effect on job satisfaction and thus has a lasting impact on quality. Despite a fundamentally positive assessment, empathy is nevertheless rarely applied due to personal fears, stressful situations or lack of time.
It is therefore all the more important for companies to allow space and time to learn and apply empathetic communication methods.
