EnBW-Fuel Switch Day 2023
new&able accompanied the EnBW Fuel Switch Day with 80 participants in Nagold.
Strong Fuel Switch projects – great project team!
The phase-out of nuclear energy and coal-fired power is a crucial step for Germany to achieve its climate goals and ensure a sustainable energy supply. One component of this is the so-called “fuel switch”, i.e. the switch from fossil fuels such as coal and oil to more climate-friendly options such as natural gas and hydrogen.
EnBW has started this path of technically converting power plants and is currently converting three power plant sites from coal to gas. New gas-fired power plants are under construction at the Heilbronn and Altbach/Deizisau sites. In the Stuttgart-Münster waste incineration plant, the coal boiler is being replaced by a gas turbine plant with two gas turbines and a waste heat boiler. The completion of these three conversions is planned for 2025 and 2026 respectively and is estimated at an investment of around 1.6 billion euros and a generation capacity of around 1.5 GW.
Behind these conversion projects are large project teams that successfully manage these enormous projects. In order to get to know each other better, to strengthen each other personally and in terms of content and to take a further step in team building, the project management has launched the Fuel Switch Day. The Fuel Switch Day took place in July with 80 participants at the Teufelwerk in Nagold.
After a joint start, the focus was initially on content-related topics relating to the status of the Fuel Switch and project experiences. The afternoon then revolved around the personal development of employees. There were various offers here, from tips for keeping in a good mood to fitness exercises and burnout prevention to personal structuring. The focus of the whole day was getting to know each other, which was encouraged by a photo booth with various team tasks, a speed dating session and lots of mutual exchange.
We were delighted to be able to plan, moderate and accompany the day. With different exchange formats, lectures and ideas, a great atmosphere developed. Many thanks to the project teams for the great cooperation and the positive response!
